March: NTU Institutional Lion Dance Competition

I'm getting really late in updating this space, omg.
Till now, i'm still 2 month lagging back.

Back on 22nd March, that day was intense, like real intense. I've never felt so nervous over NTU Institutional LD Competition before, like yes lah.... maybe back in Year 1 in Tertiary, BUT NOT NOW RIGHTTTTT

Reached NYP pretty early with the rest, to prepare all the props/ stuffs, last round of rehearsal, prayers.

Prepare the props up the lorry right away after the lorry reached NYP.

Reached The Cathay, got our position of performance by votes, and the competition commenced.

Last minute instrument rehearsal before the Female Category competition start.

The girls went in for competition first before the boys.

Female Category - Full girls team for NYPLD.

After the competition, it was the award ceremony right away. Congratulations to the girls for winning Bronze back for NYPLD!

Another achievement unlocked - with full females team and also bringing back an award!

Congratulations to the boys for winning Champion back for NYPLD! FINALLY GLORY BROUGHT BACK FOR US, BY TWO TEAMS.

And..... lastly, definitely a proper full team shot w Shifu, and Coaches.

Thank you to all the team members for coming down almost everyday for intensive trainings for 2 weeks. It's definitely a great experience for my case, it was my virgin drumming experience in competition, and i'm thankful to coaches for giving me this opportunity.
And also, thank you all the girls in my teams for being able to understand my situation, and also coming down for trainings.

I LOVE YOU GUYSSSSSS

And finally, being able to see my Poly good friend - Cindy after like 2 years of not seeing her??!!
Hope NYPLD did really help in your assignment on Lion Dance. Sorry wasn't being able to chat with you more. But let's meet up soon dear! -insert heart shapessssssss-

Till then......................

Just Want Coffee: The Factory

Back 2 months ago, 15th March, Sunday................................

I FINALLY MET MY FRIENDSSSSSSSSS, those uni bitches!!!!!

Been 6 months since i last saw them for JB trip back in September before Wilson start work? Omg.
Tbh, i don't rmbr why am i so busy back end of last year?! Probably all those dragons training and preparation for my second last semester's exams etc

Met up w Sy and Bm at Woodlands Interchange first before Naz and Angie swung by.

Board the bus already, and we saw Wilson and Superman (Shawn, cos he likes Superman, that's how i name him and we 3 girls only met him the first time)

Split the cab, cos there's 8 of us.

And headed down to Just Want Coffee: The Factory outlet at Mount Austin.

The ambiance and atmosphere inside is shiokkkkk max.

But we waited for around 30-40mins for our food to be served.

Ordered Hungry Jack Big Breakfast set w the other 5 of them, Bm and Angie ordered a different one.
OMG DOPE YMY but the waiting time is really a tad too long.

Group shot before leaving, definitely.

Just Want Coffee: The Factory
30, Jalan Mutiara Emas 5/3
Taman Mount Austin,
81100 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia

And below is 3 of them googling and finding for cab on the right hand side, and the rest just hanging around and chatting.

 With Angie and Bm.

 And a proper shot w the rest. :D #teambirkenstock

Walked out of the very ulu place to get cab, and headed down to the "Glass House" cafe they mentioned.

Nope, we didn't went in, just wanna take pix that's all.

Went to Mystery Q for Escape Room game.

Can't remember exactly DID WE manage to escape out or not. But the main point of the photo.
Sy is sucha hero that he lent Angie his birks, cos angie have blister on one of her foot. 英雄 有没有.

After which, cabbed back to KSL and Angie got her pedi or mani done, can't rmbr.... when the rest of us went to hunt for food.

Ate the so called "disgusting", "worst sushi ever" (described by the rest) Sushi King. I devour the sushi, i didn't eat the mains at all. LOL and we spent like close to SGD10 for that sushi dinner. LOL

Cabbed back to JB Sentral and pay each other money before heading back to Singapore.

Bm and Angie walked the same direction back, and Bp came to fetched Angie for Supper, Bm went home ALONE. The rest of us headed to Marsiling area to get cab home.

Thanks Ken's dad for fetching the Amk/ Hougang ones home. YAY

This pretty much summarized the trip, so till then..............................

Pince and Pints

Back in 6th March,

waited for Ji to knock off before i met him up at Duxton Road, brought him over to Pince and Pints and waited to be seated down.

Photo cr: pinceandpints.sg

There are lotsa of people, thank god we only have 2 pax, hence we only waited for 20-30 mins for our seats, whereas for those big groups one, i have no idea they've to wait for how long. High chance, 1hour for 4pax, you'll know why i know later in the post.

Btw, Pince and Pints don't allow reservation of seats, they're open at 530pm, so go there and queue first if you're kiasu.

They are famous for their lobsters (duh!!), and there's only 3 items in the menu - namely, Live Whole Lobster, The Lobster Roll and Chill Lobster.

I ordered Lobster Roll for myself, and Ji ordered Grilled Live Whole Lobster for himself.

 The Lobster Roll

Grilled Live Whole Lobster.

The happy man with his food and his alcohol (not in photo).

The bill choked up to $150+, which i think it's totally worth it, since it's his birthday dinner. OFC I PAY LA (DUHHHHH!!!).

Okay, back to why i know 4pax hafta wait 1 hour for their seat.

I met one of my big cousin, Hanxiang kor, there, SAT RIGHT BESIDE ME AS WELL. Damn coincident, but anyw, they have 4 pax, and they waited for 1h-1h+ for their seats tho.

For those who are keen:

The address is,

Pince and Pints
32 Duxton Road
S089496

P.S: It's damn near to Flor Patisserie, just a stone throw away. Imo, nearest MRT stations: Outrum Park, Chinatown and Tanjong Pagar.

That's all....

Till then.

CNY Part II

羊年初 8 - 26th February

Annual affair to sweep all 4 Mont Blanc outlets, and first Mont Blanc stop this year would be at Ngee Ann City.

Normally after Ngee Ann City's outlet, we would walk over to Mandarin Gallery's outlet, but this year was slight different, Peirong drove us to tabao food straight away when we were already running late for the performance.

So have no choice, they threw me and Quanda's gf - Fiona at the coffeeshop itself to tabao food and cabbed down to Raffles City's Mont Blanc after which.

Was damn awkward with Fiona at the first place, but after we realise we're just 1 year apart from each other, and Fiona graduated from SIM-RMIT previously, we hitted off right away. Like we've known each other for long.

Chatted over lunch with her while waiting for the food to be packed finish, and cabbed down straight to Raffles City's outlet.

It was pretty fast, cos again... we're running late for the MBS's Mont Blanc outlet.
But ended up, we were too early for it, so we stayed outside the mall, and drank our gong cha, while the rest were resting/ walking around The Shoppes.

Meiling swing by, and i have free Perrero sticks from her, woohoo!! Headed back to Chinatown to meet up with the other lorry, and to help in Coach's mentor's office plucking green.

But when we've reached, all is done, and the next performance will be Coach's Office - Wee Studio.

YAY, MAY WEE STUDIO HUAT AHHHHHHHHHHHH

I wasn't there at all, because i tag along with Ah Seng to tabao food at Hong Lim Food Complex, muahahahahahah!

Group photo just below Coach's office, before we head over to our last destination!

WEIJIN HUAT AH!!!!!!!!

The last stop started at around 645pm, and it's pretty big.

Headed back to Defu Lane after this.

羊年初 9 - 27th February

The place which i hated the most, because they've too many offices to sweep, and you tend to get really really restless.

Split lorry, and headed back to NorthStar for Gy's office plucking green.

Can't rmbr where we headed to after next, but it was a pretty lepak day.

Left early, cos idk why either.........

Everybody helping out in moving the poles up to the lorry.

羊年初 10 - 28th February

Early in the morning was greeted by the dog from the opposite factory! Remember this dog is just a small puppy back last year CNY, now he/she HAVE GROWN SO BIG! And is very very very playful!!!

Move off to Eunos Industrial, before seperated to else where? But ended up the family hire another troupe and wasn't us, SO WASTED TRIP.

After which, headed down to one of the condo at Orchard, to prepare for the biggest performance.

We're going everywhere for plucking green, and whatever, and poles was jumped by Weiyong.

This is what happen when performance haven't start, and everybody was overtired.

节令鼓 performance.

Poles performance by Weiyong.

Group photo of Weijin + Weiyong

I think i left early on that day, because i'm not interested in participating in the Chingay chushi.

羊年初 13 - 3rd March

Last performance for the CNY, and it was pathetic. Only 6 ppl came to help?

It was in the morning, and school was like at 330pm, so why not.... since they need people (desperately).

It was some company's CNY lunch at orchard.

After performance, went back to Defu, and slack with the rest before my timing is up and headed down to school.

Lesson as per normal, and headed home? Can't remember.

So this sums up the entire 2015 CNY Chushi Performance. Didn't participate much as compared to the previous years tho. But it's still as fun as usual.

HUAT AH

Till then...........
